Hard-Charging, Yet Charming, in Charleston

She had been in the top job at WCSC Charleston for all of a week when Hurricane Floyd was bearing down on the region and residents were being evacuated. Proud of Our Management Diversity

In releasing its 2012 Television Newsroom Diversity in Management survey, the National Association of Black Journalists recognized Raycom Media as having the highest diversity index of all broadcast groups surveyed, with thirty-one (17%) of its 179 television newsroom managers being people of color. Raycom Media Acquires Award-Winning Tupelo-Honey Productions

Raycom Media, Inc. announced today that it has acquired the assets of New York City-based Tupelo-Honey Productions (THP), including 50% of My Tupelo Entertainment. The acquisition adds to the Raycom Media production capabilities, which include Raycom Sports, a subsidiary of Raycom Media based in Charlotte, N.C.

Cary Glotzer will continue to be the CEO of Tupelo-Honey and the Managing Partner of My Tupelo Entertainment. My Tupelo Entertainment is headed by Partner, and veteran Executive Producer, Michael Yudin. Full Story

Tracey Rogers Appointed to be New KAIT General Manager

Raycom Media is pleased to announce the promotion and appointment of Tracey Rogers as Vice President and General Manager of KAIT-TV in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Tracey (a recent graduate of Raycom's inaugural Leadership Development Training Program) is currently the News Director at WMC-TV in Memphis, Tennessee, a position she has held since 2007, and she replaces Tim Ingram who was recently named Vice President and General Manager of KFVS-TV in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Tim Ingram to be New KFVS12 General Manager

Raycom Media is pleased to announce that Tim Ingram has been appointed to be the new Vice President and General Manager of KFVS12 and WQWQ-TV effective December 1st. Ingram replaces Mike Smythe who retires from the station after 11 years as General Manager.

Ingram is currently General Manager for Raycom Media station KAIT, the ABC affiliate in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Until a replacement is found for KAIT, Ingram will be overseeing the operations of both locations. Full Story

Kym Grinnage: The Top Man at the Top Station

Growing up, the main aspiration for his life was simple: to venture outside of the project housing community where he lived. Today, Grinnage is indeed far from where he started out.

A New York native, Grinnage and his wife moved to Richmond in 1990 after deciding that the rising cost of private school for their two daughters was a sign that they should relocate. Without knowing anyone in the south, Grinnage, who was a CBS-TV sales account executive at the time, began applying for positions. Full Story

Sharing the Graphics Wealth

With more stations launching 4 p.m. newscasts to replace Oprah this fall, finding ways to create more high-quality graphics for the expanded news slate has become a growing problem.

"We have stations [at Raycom Media] that are producing over 40 hours of news per week," notes Dave Folsom, the station group's chief technology officer. A familiar face is returning to the medium that made her famous and a format in which she thrives. Popular television personality Leeza Gibbons has signed on to co-host "America Now," a new daily news program from Raycom Media and ITV Studios America. Gibbons joins Bill Rancic to headline the show that launches as a daily firstrun series this fall starting September 12th.

Produced by ITV Studios America and already a successful weekend series on Raycom stations, "America Now" is a 30-minute news program that will deliver short segments of timely information that's beneficial to viewers' lives. WBTV's Ohnesorge Treads Path of Disaster

He's probably the most widely traveled reporter in town - he's been to places like Afghanistan, Iraq and Haiti. He's WBTV's master of disaster.
