Susana Schuler, Vice President of News for Raycom Media, has been selected to receive the prestigious RTDNA First Amendment Service award, which is presented to "a person of distinction who works in an off-air, management capacity." She will be honored in Washington, DC, at the 21st Annual RTDNF First Amendment Awards Dinner.
Schuler joined Raycom Media in February 2006 to oversee Raycom Media's growing group of news operations. Schuler is responsible for oversight of the product, people, ratings, research, content and community involvement of the news operations. Prior to joining Raycom Media, Schuler was Vice President/Corporate News Director for Nexstar Broadcasting Group in Irving, Texas, for nine years with oversight of that company's 27 news operations across the country.
Funds raised at the dinner help support RTDNF's work to promote excellence in electronic journalism through research, education and training for news professions and journalism students. The foundation's work is also supported by contributions from foundations, corporations, members of the RTDNA, and other individuals.
