Cincinnati, OH Affiliate: FOX DMA: 35 fox19.com

It all began in August 1968. WXIX-TV, Channel 19 signed on as Cincinnati’s first independent television station. It was a humble beginning with a small staff of innovative dreamers. With their help, and the help of many others over the years, FOX19 NOW has grown into a news and entertainment powerhouse serving the Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana Tri-State area.

In the early years, viewers flocked to WXIX for light-hearted classics like “Gomer Pyle,” “Bewitched,” and the “Flintstones.” But today, the Tri-State turns to FOX19 NOW for unsurpassed News coverage, the best sports such as NFL and NCAA Football, the Super Bowl, MLB, World Series and NASCAR. But that’s not all, FOX19 NOW is also home to some of television’s most popular shows, including “Wheel of Fortune,” “Jeopardy!” and “Empire” on FOX.

And while WXIX is here to entertain, our most important mission is to inform. We take it seriously and we’re proud of the News and Weather coverage we deliver every day . . . coverage that keeps families safe, and empowers them with important information.

In 1995, WXIX launched the Tri-State’s first Ten O’clock newscast. From day one it was a resounding success, so much so that one year after its premiere, the show expanded to an hour. Now, more than 20 years later, FOX19 NOW is still the most-watched 10 p.m. newscast . . . by a wide margin.

Weekday mornings, Tri-State viewers are hooked on FOX19 NOW. All-local from 4:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., it’s where Cincinnati turns to get First Alert Weather, First Alert Traffic reports, and Breaking News updates from the FOX19 NOW Alert Desk. Every day our team gets Tri-State viewers out the door, on the road and off to work . . . well-informed, engaged and ready to take on the day.

From those early days in 1968 and continuing today, WXIX has thought “out of the box,” producing innovative music video and sports productions, including “Disco Sensations,” and Emmy-winning Bearcat Basketball coverage. Today at FOX19 NOW, innovation is still part of our DNA, with cutting edge news, weather and sports apps that put the world at your fingertips, and lifestyle content that today’s users demand. Our CincyWeekend.com has quickly become the “go-to” guide for entertainment, food and arts around the Tri-State. It’s a one-stop shop for people looking to plan a weekend on the town, or find a quiet spot to relax. With our fast-growing digital products and strong on-air lineup, FOX 19 NOW is serving up popular content that users want . . . on the platforms they use most.

WXIX calls the former Harriett Beecher Stowe School home. It’s one of Cincinnati’s most historic buildings, and a location which conjures up the city’s rich history for all who enter, while giving FOX19 NOW the state-of-the-art home it needs to lead in the digital age.

In 2018, FOX19 NOW celebrates its Golden anniversary, serving the Tri-State for 50 years! We’re proud of the station’s achievements and what we give back to the community. From our sponsorship of “Food from the Heart,” our annual food drive, to “St. Jude Dream Home,” benefitting St. Jude Research Hospital, and our year-round “Think Pink” breast cancer awareness campaign, FOX 19 NOW is committed to serving our community every day . . . today, tomorrow and the next fifty years.
